Why choose Matangi Angus Beef? Our clients' testimonials speak for themselves...
"That close to 100 day aged t bone was absolutely unbelieeeeeeeevable. I think it was the best steak I have ever eaten. The cap of fat on it was like biting into heaven! Safe to say ill be getting some more soon." Thorley, Kati Kati, April 2022.
“The sirloin and scotch were absolutely amazing; the best steak we have had in NZ by a mile. Thanks again for your great service.” Rohan, Napier, April 2022.
"I finally cooked that awesome brisket. It turned out beautifully - way better than the previous two or three I’ve done. Thanks so much - I’ll definitely be getting more from you guys in the future!" Ciaran, Hawke Bay, March 2022.
“Just wanted to say thanks for another great meal centred around some Matangi meat. The sirloin was amazing. Dad loved it.” Tim, Cambridge, November 2021.
"Just a note to say I was seriously impressed with the quality of the beef and of your processes, marketing and packaging! Glad to find someone who waits until cattle are at a decent age before slaughter - that is very hard to find and truly makes all the difference!" Kurt, Invercargill, October 2021.
"I'd like to really congratulate you on your amazing beef. We are a French family who has lived in New Zealand for the past 4 years. It is the first time that we have found such quality in beef...and the first time we have been able to find certain cuts, such as the Bavette, which are not available elsewhere. We look forward to making monthly orders next season". Nicolas S, Waiheke Island, May 2021.
"Thanks for our first order this week. The Sirloin was exceptional. Most tender and flavoursome we have found since moving to NZ from Australia. We have re-ordered today." Rohan F, Auckland, March 2021.
"Over this past year with Covid, three things have become clear 1) there's no point in skimping or settling as you don’t know what the future holds, 2) treat yourself and others you care about to a good meal and company and 3) whenever possible support local businesses! With those in mind Matangi is one of the first online companies I turn to, whether I want to buy for myself or for family or friends who deserve a good meal.
If you’re anything like me, chances are you’re consistently unimpressed by the meat selection at your local grocery store (which has been even more sparse during the pandemic). The prices are low but so is the quality. My wife and I will actually drive quite far out of our way to patronize a store with better cuts of protein when we’re craving a delicious steak dinner. We’re based in Central Auckland but with the lockdowns and a newborn, we needed something a little more convenient.
So why have we settled on Matangi… well a few friends who work in the restaurant industry first recommended we take a look and we decided to order and compare; we haven’t been disappointed. The goods show up on time, neatly prepared in vacuum sealed packs insulated and kept cold. The product presentation, flavour, marbling and the taste is in a league of its own. I’ve tried the mince, tomahawk, tri-tip, NY strip and they remind me of growing up in the States and visiting the steakhouses with big cuts of USDA Prime steak. After a few dinners with general consensus from friends and family, we’ve made the permanent switch. The cost is not much more than we spend at the butchers but the value/quality is hands down better.
Not only does this company deliver flavourful, high-quality meat from a family-owned farm, the company prioritizes sustainability in its business practices, as well as animal wellbeing with humane business practices and overall food quality and safety. Each time we’ve ordered it’s been seamless with easy and quick ordering and delivery. The team Nicky, Mathieu and others have been helpful and even as a small volume customer they don’t value or treat us any less than their larger clients.
So in summary a great product, great team and a great NZ story. What’s not to love.. And for those less about the niceties, the steak speaks for itself..." - Alan, Auckland, February 2021.
